Who we are
Christ the King Community Church is a Bible believing, Jesus loving church in Fredericktown, Ohio. We are committed to loving God and living His Word. We believe in connecting with people, growing together, and reaching out into our community to serve and protect.
Where we come from
I wrote some time ago to our first congregation of 40 people what determines the need to launch out and build a new work, a new church, a new ministry. Christ the King Community Church came into existence I believe, by divine guidance. It is very difficult to place into words all the emotions and facts that would adequately explain our genesis as a church. However from this humble beginning we have gone from renting a small Grange building to a very large campus at the corner of McClelland and State Route 95 in Knox County. God has blessed our endeavor and we invite you to become a part of our journey with the Lord.

How we began
It is amazing to see how God works in bringing about the birthing of a new church. Such was the case with the founding of Christ the King. Pastor Baker had resigned his pastorate in Delaware after 17 years; feeling that the Lord was leading him in a new direction. He was then working at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon and happened to mention to a co-worker that this would be the first Easter Sunday in 17 years that he would not be preaching. She then said to him, "If we can get a place for you to preach would you preach for us on Easter Sunday?" This was in 1998 and from that group of 40 people Christ the King Community Church was established. Now thirteen years later God has blessed mightily and CTK is continuing to grow and reach the surrounding communities with the gospel.
Even the site where the Church sits is special. It's location was once a Baptist Church that was founded in the early 1800's. We feel that God wants a church in this cornfield and if we are faithful to Him; He will fill it. So from that group of hospital employees with a desire to please the Lord and be led by Him Christ the King Community Church came into being.
What we believe
We are a non-denominational Bible believing body. We believe the Bible is without error and given to men by God as they were inspired by the Holy Spirit to write.
We believe in the Trinity; Father, Son and Holy Ghost and that we are saved through faith in Jesus Christ. "...for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12 KJV
Where we're going
We're always moving towards earth looking more like Heaven. This looks like fostering a community that loves, that worships, and that believes in the impossible. We move as a community by putting one foot in front of the other, following the wind of the Spirit one step at a time.
